Maximizing Predictive Accuracy of District Benchmarks

Presentation Description: Typical approaches to setting proficiency level cutoff scores for district benchmarks often result in inaccurate prediction of California Standards Test (CST) results. By using an “equipercentile” method for establishing the cutoffs, it is possible to substantially increase the accuracy of prediction. This presentation will step through the rationale and the process for implementing this more sophisticated approach.

Presenter: Dr. Tom Barrett, Schoolwise Press, Inc./Owl Corps
